“Travis fixed our family heirloom hall tree and it’s fantastic! We enjoyed meeting Travis and having him in our home while doing the repair - so nice not having to load it and take it to a shop, wait, then pick back up weeks later. Can’t believe (and so sad) that I waited so long with it setting in a corner broken and unusable. Travis really does care for what you care about. We will definitely call him again!!!”

“Considered trashing my couch over a few loose springs that caused it to sag in the middle. Decided to hire Travis to see if it could be salvaged since the couch isn’t 2 years old. He did just that and now she’s good as new! Probably took him longer to drive here than it did for him to fix the framing. He actually fixed more than my couch’s frame. He adjusted me spiritually by speaking words of confirmation that I know were intended just for me. Thank you, Travis, for allowing God to use you to fix things AND people!”

“I had an older and rather large china cabinet and no longer wanted it because it was just took up so much of my dinning area. I had my grandmother’s China cabinet and hutch that was out dated in my daughter’s room. I was praying one night and I asked God to help me find a way to get rid of the large one so that I could find a way to redo my grandmother’s. God told me to call Travis.  I told God that Travis would think that I was crazy because at that time Nook and Cranny were only buying and redoing furniture. So God kept telling me to call Travis and I didn't listen. So one night I was at Walmart and who did I see, Hillary and Travis. We were chatting and out I spoke what God wanted me to ask. I didn't say it but it was God. Travis and Hillary worked their magic on my grandmother's furniture that she bought in 1947 and made it a beautiful up-to-date piece that I now use in my dinning room. From then on out they have been redoing other families furniture. Now you see how God works! I highly recommend Hillary and Travis!”

“This is our second time hiring Travis to repair family heirloom wood furniture. First time he reseated the spindles in our kitchen table chairs. That was 2 years ago and we've never had a problem with them since! Then we tried to open up the kitchen table to put a leaf in for NYE the day before while getting the house ready and it wouldn't budge. Called Travis right away and he was kind enough to swing by the next morning on NYE. He quickly spotted the problem and removed the metal rails from under the table which had seized. Had them working again in no time, sanded/lubed/waxed and working perfectly. He also had brought a catalogue for us to order replacement rails should we have needed them. So very happy that we have enough room around the table for family and friends this NYE. Travis saved the day (again)!!! Very reasonable fee for mobile furniture repair at your home. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED !!!!!!! You will not be sorry. Travis is the best!!”

I liked the furniture and I really just wanted to get it fixed so I could use it. Travis did a great job fixing the problem. I would definitely use them again for any future furniture needs. Thanks again.”

— Eileen Donnelly | Greenville, SC

“Your furniture is in good hands with Nook and Cranny. From beginning to end, Travis and Hillary have been consummate professionals. And, they are such nice, personable people! They first worked on my grandmother's mid-century dining table and chairs. Let me just say that the table and chairs had seen better days. Travis came to my house and took tons of notes about what needed to be done. I was totally blown away with how conscientious he was in making note of all repairs to be done. The caning on the back of the dining chairs was really in need of repair. Travis made no promises that he could find the same small caning weave, but he came through in flying colors! Travis went above and beyond on this project for me - he even coordinated the reupholstering of the dining seats. He picked up the seats and the fabric I had selected, delivered them to the upholsterer and then brought them back and reattached them to the chairs! I cannot describe to you how thrilled I am in their beautiful work! Travis and Hillary also restored a brass bar cart that had belonged to my grandmother. The poor thing was sooooo tarnished and shaky! It needed new screws and some structural work. The finished product looks so good and gleams more than I even remember it when my grandmother used it! My grandmother would be proud to know that her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren will be sitting around her dining table once again for Thanksgiving! Thank you Travis and Hillary!”

— Elizabeth Schein-Pearson | Greer, SC

“Travis did a really fantastic job fixing my broken chair! I'll definitely be recommending his service to anyone in need of furniture repairs.”

— Elizabeth Schumpert | Pendleton, SC

“Travis drove out to my place to fix my rolltop desk. He arrived on time and quickly assessed the problem and got started on the repair. He brought the cloth with him to replace the old cloth on the tambor if it needed to be. One of the slats had pulled loose off the cloth and was jammed in place keeping the roll top from opening. He carefully trimmed the tambor slats and cloth and carefully refluxed the sections that were loose and glued the new cloth on to reinforce the slats. He did a beautiful job on the desk and when he finished, the top rolls up just like it was brand new. Travis worked quickly and efficiently and charged me less than his first estimate, and instead of not having my desk for weeks while it was repaired, he left me with a fully repaired desk for less than I expected to have to pay. I will definitely call Travis if I need any more repairs done, and not hesitate to refer him to anyone who needs repair work done!
Thank you Travis!”

— Ellen Bryant | Union, SC

“Absolutely amazing to work with and talk to throughout the whole process! Such a joy.”

— Emmanuel Watson | Upstate, SC

“I was lucky enough to have Travis come the day after I called. I have a unique mid century modern table that neither of us could find any pictures or any examples of how it worked. The table has springs underneath to keep tension between the legs for different heights and the top spins 180deg and flips open doubling the size if the top. With the broken pieces I had, Travis worked through the issues and figured it all out. Bought a couple of cheap springs and hooks, works like new. There was also some structural repair that was glued and clamped, with some new screws where necessary. Travis even cleaned the whole table up so it was placed in room ready. Travis was courteous, quiet, clean and likes what he does for a living, which is important to me. The pricing is extremely good for the quality and service. If I could give more stars I would.”

— EMG | Simpsonville, SC

“Travis did a fantastic job on our coffee table, 2 side tables, and dining table. They were over 30 yrs old, had been through multiple moves, a fire and had scratches, were falling apart and had multitudes of water stains. Travis came all the way to our home to look over the pieces, he made suggestions, was very knowledgeable and really spent a lot of time working with us. The end result was well worth the money and time waiting. The pieces look amazing, you would think they were brand new and the stains and damage are gone. He even modernized them with the black paint. I was so skeptical, but I am glad I trusted his judgement and taste and we are thrilled with the pieces. They were passed down to us and I have a feeling we will be passing them down to our littles one day! Thanks to Travis and his wife!”

— Enoch and Jheri Rea | Hendersonville, NC

“Nook & Cranny Co. refinished an oak table for me, removing the original lackluster finish including a varnish which had darkened over 100 years to the ugliest and dullest black you ever saw. The piece also needed some repairs. It was worth the wait. When it was delivered to my home (at a time convenient to MY schedule, not THEIRS), I was delighted with the overhaul. I was able to select the color of new stain and finish, and I received photo updates during the refinishing process to make sure things were progressing as I expected. Nook & Cranny Co. is a class act. I'm sold!”

I enjoyed meeting and talking with him as much as I enjoyed his work. Highly recommend.”

— James Hambright | Moore, SC

Absolutely beautiful and more than we could have ever expected is how we feel about our refurbished teacart that Travis of Nook & Cranny just delivered. We were privileged to receive the tea cart after my husband's mother passed away last May. The cart is nearly 100 years old if not more. My husband remembers seeing it as a small child in his grandmother’s house and then in his mother’s house. With its age came a lot of wear and tear as you can imagine. When we received the cart, my husband went on the hunt for a furniture restorer. Lucky us we came upon Travis and his wife Hillary of Nook & Cranny. We went on their website and were blown away by the beautiful work they do. We called Travis and he came and looked at the tea cart and we must say, after talking to Travis, we had no hesitation of giving him the seemingly daunting task of refurbishing our mother’s tea cart. The website shows the before and after pictures of the tea cart and you can see for yourself the beautiful end results. Thank you so much Travis, Hillary, and Nook & Cranny, we know Great-grandma, Grandma, and Mother are all smiling looking at their beautiful "new" tea cart.”

“We had a vintage National Geographic bird feeder that was irreplaceable and therefore priceless. It's made with exotic woods and beautiful detail, but the years of weather had taken its toll. Nook and Cranny performed a TOTAL restoration by taking it apart, replacing hardware, repairing/replacing construction, and even improving the seed hopper to feed more efficiently. Then, after the integrity of structure was made BETTER than new, all the woodwork was made more beautiful than the original finish. After painstakingly removing all signs of age, the natural beauty of these woods were brought out with expert use of stains and sealers. The result was a work of art. Nook and Cranny is the best. I highly recommend them for your finest or most prized pieces.”

“Travis is awesome! And so is his truck. He worked on my Great Aunt’s tea cart that got DESTROYED when shipped down here to SC. He not only put it back together in the style it originated in, but he fixed up some dings and dents that, honestly, probably preceded shipping. He has a wonderful attention to detail and is great to talk to. If you’re looking to have some alone time for a few hours, have your partner with an affinity for fixing things up and DIY talk with him - he kept my partner entertained for HOURS while I got some much needed stuff done around the house! Seriously, y’all are the best, 10/10 would recommend.”

He finished all of the work in just two days and we are thrilled with the results! The piece came out absolutely gorgeous and we couldn’t be happier with how it turned out. Travis was also great on pricing, he gave us a quote and that’s what it stayed at. Thank you again Travis!”

“I inherited my Great-grandmothers dresser, and after moving from the west coast to SC (and several moves after that) it was damaged. I couldn’t figure out how I was going to manage to get the thing to any repair shop without damaging it further. So it just sat in a spare room, and I felt terrible every time I looked at it. Well I found Nook & Cranny online and called. Travis was here in about an hour! Here! I didn’t have to load it up and haul it anywhere! And HE FIXED IT! He also polished it (and another vintage dresser in the room!) and it’s absolutely beautiful! He was very flexible about how it got fixed, asking me what I preferred and letting me know what he would do if it was his. It’s more stable than its ever been and now we’re using it. And the price? Very reasonable. No more broken family heirloom with just a phone call? Priceless.”

“My first "new" piece of furniture I purchased as a newlywed was a dining room set including a china hutch.  37 years later, the table went out of style and the chairs began to fall apart, but I still loved my china hutch.  Purchased a new table and chairs and found Travis and Hillary.  Travis was wonderful.  He met with me and had so many great ideas on how to transform the old piece to work with my purchase. He called several times to check in and let me know how it was going and when he realized that he needed to tweak the original design. He was so professional and treated my piece as if it was the most important piece of furniture he had ever worked on.  I couldn't be more happy with the final result and when anyone sees it, they can't believe it's the same piece.  Travis and Hillary are a treasure in the upstate.  I just wish there were more people who took as much pride in their work as they do.”

— Kay Kern | Greenville, SC

“Travis is remarkable; he’s saved me in 2 incidences no one else would have considered!! Sitting at our dining able (midcentury hardwood) a table dropped off, landing the table in my lap !!! The table recently shipped from Florida. I had no idea what had just happened or who to call (I’d just moved to Greenville just 2 weeks earlier)!!! Travis came out that same evening; identified & repaied the problem — then looked over the entire table & 6 chairs), making small repairs to any problems he’d come across!!
Then, a few years later I literally fell backwards into an open door of my mahogany breakfront. Yep .. my fall broke the foor vertically in half. Travis was unsure if a repair would hold but he gave it his best & his best worked!!! What more can I say, Travis makes magic happen!
Ps: I just referred a good friend to Travis. You know it’s good work when you refer a friend!!!

— K.B. | Greenville, SC

”We moved from Dallas, TX to Fountain Inn and incurred some major moving company damage to our antique buffet and plant stand. We thought for sure that any repairs would involve somebody coming to the house, loading the two pieces onto a trailer and carting them to their shop. And we wouldn’t see that furniture again for weeks or even months.
Based on these reviews and testimonies, we called Travis and were pleasantly surprised when he told us that he could repair our antiques on-site in one day. Frankly, I initially found that hard to believe given the severity of the damage. Our dining room buffet had one leg completely busted off and another joint severely cracked. The antique plant stand also had a leg completely broken off.
I enjoyed meeting Travis and having him in our home while doing the repair. And he was spot on getting the work completed on-site in one day - it was fantastic and greatly appreciated not having to load it and take it to a shop, wait, then pick back up weeks later.
Absolutely outstanding workmanship, you absolutely cannot tell there was ever any damage at all to our furniture. His meticulous attention to detail and problem solving skills were demonstrated as he crafted a way to clamp the curved plant stand leg during the repair.
Our antiques are good as new. We have no hesitation in highly recommending Nook and Cranny for antique furniture repair, we couldn’t be more pleased with the amazing results.”

— Ken Vormwald | Fountain Inn, SC

It's the only piece I have from my grandparents. The fellow was so laid back, but as intense as a surgeon. He used tools as sharp as scalpels, teeny tiny needles and clamps. “Travis is the BEST! A moving company had broken two of the four legs off my husband's grandmother's cherry wood chest of drawers. They had also ATTEMPTED to fix by driving a nail into one leg which split it in two. Travis came out and not only fixed it, but also reinforced them, cleaned up areas that time had had it's way with, and wiped it down with a moisture-rich spray that, is obvious NOW, desperately needed it! He also gave me some advice on a "problem" table my grandfather left me. He's VERY personable! He tells great stories, too! I HIGHLY recommend his work! My husband is so pleased with the results and we can't thank Travis enough!”

When Travis immediately returned my call and we chatted about the repairs, I felt really good about his ability to fix my pieces. Travis came when scheduled and was very thorough in explaining just how he would go about the repairs. He was very careful and meticulous in the repairs. I would recommend Travis without hesitation. “What a wonderful surprise!! Living with old furniture, I've grown accustomed to waiting for repairs whenever something breaks. We recently moved, and an overzealous guest splintered one of our kitchen chairs. We turned to the Internet for a local shop to fix the chair, and while not local, found Nook & Cranny Co., a TRAVELING repair service. I never would have imagined a furniture repair service that came to your house; I'd always thought of multiple steps, processes, waiting, working, refining...Travis has a different approach. He asked for pictures of the broken chair, gave a quotation, and set a date and time to come to our home. He was right on time, told us what EXACTLY his plan was before doing anything (which was very nice, as we felt we had an option to understand what was going to be done before anything actually happened; we felt safe that nothing drastic nor destructive would happen). Travis had fabulous supplies and knowledge, which he expertly applied, and like magic *presto* we had a fixed chair, fixed by a real craftsman. Doesn't get any better than this. If you are on the fence about having something you care about worked on, fixed, changed, whatever: have faith in Nook & Cranny Co!”

— Stanley Gonzalez | Martin, GA

“Travis and Hillary, THANK YOU! What an incredible job you did on our antique platform rocker! This rocker belonged to my father's mother and means a great deal to me. Over the last 60+ years it had ended up in pieces... literally. It broke my heart to see it like that.  All my memories of the times I visited my grandmother and sat in this rocker! And now it has been born again! As beautiful and structurally sound as new!  I can't wait to get the fabric done to finish it off! I really had no idea this chair could be saved. You guys are AMAZING!!!”

— Steve and Lee Jones | Greer, SC

“When our mom’s antique nightstand arrived damaged due to substandard shipping with a leg shorn off in pieces, I called Travis who, in turn, replied quickly, & within days was at our home performing a mobile repair. He was efficient, professional, personable, & got it standing reinforced on its own 3 legs, surprisingly quick. He gave some quotes on other furniture repairs we have & was on his way. I wouldn’t hesitate to use his skills again because the results are so impressive. Modern furniture can just be functional but to find someone who restores the character in an artistically wrought antique is rare.”

“I had some furniture pieces damaged by water at my home. Travis & Hillary came to my home to access the repairs that needed to be done. My mother's china hutch was very old. Due to the humidity the top had separated from the bottom, some of the layers of veneer had also come loose and one of the legs had broken off. The dining room table, chair legs, and buffet showed damage from standing in water. I also had a golden oak sofa table that I wanted to change to a walnut color. Some of the repairs were done in my home, but the table legs, buffet & sofa table were taken to the shop for their transformation. Wow what a transformation they had! Travis delivered the pieces tonight and my dining room is looking beautiful again. I highly recommend Hillary and Travis Nook & Cranny!! Love their work - I will definitely use them again.”

“Antique oak full bed my grandfather and father refinished 40+ years ago, had the side rail bust - making it unusable.  Travis quickly responded with appointment, then was actually able to come a little earlier, which he let me know. He looked at the bed, assessed the best way to repair. He listened to my concerns and made sure those were addressed in his repair. He had all tools and equipment needed with him. He repaired the side rail and also put additional slats for stability. I am confident this bed will now be set for another 80+ years. I am very happy.”

“When I first contacted Travis at Nook and Cranny about seeing if they could refinish a table, I was immediately impressed.  Both Travis and Hillary got back to me quickly with a quote and details on how they could refinish the table.  Whenever I asked a question online to Hillary, she responded within the day!  I am so pleased with the transformation of the old table I purchased. It had many scratches in it even a carving of a person!and was in poor shape. Now it is beautiful and adds so much to our kitchen area! Great job on the table!  I am already scheming about when I can get them to refinish some antique bedroom furniture for my little girl's room! Thanks, Hillary and Travis!”

“The antique table and clock are mine and as you can see a fantastic job was done in the restoration.  I found Nook & Cranny to be extremely professional, competent, down to earth, and easy to communicate.  All questions were answered, fully, with patience and concern.  Because I had been taken advantage of by many who professed Christianity, I was a little concerned about giving my business to Nook & Cranny.  I went to several sites looking for restorers and found many I might trust with my antiques.  Each time I would return to Nook & Cranny.  This happened many times over a period of about an hour.  Finally, after being strongly drawn back to Nook & Cranny for the final time, I decided I should give them a call.  Left message and my call was immediately returned.  I have no regrets and am extremely pleased with the outcomes of my table and clock.  This is a company that is reliable and trustworthy.”
